Hi Kate!

Love the recipe but had a problem. My food processor has a puree function with a limited amount of time so I kept running it until the coconut turned to liquid. When I tasted it, the texture was sand. Did I not run it long enough? Again, it was liquid and I poured it out of the processor. As a side note, as an experiment, I took some of the sandy liquid and added freshly ground almond butter. It was a divine taste but the texture was like wet sand, not pleasant. What should the texture be and what should it look like? Thank you!

Hi Angela,

I saw on a different website discussing coconut and it used desiccated and shredded interchangeably so in my opinion it's worth a try. Good luck! N

I make homemade "nutella" all the time using hazelnuts I roast. Can't see any reason they couldn't be combined with coconut. Now that I think about it, almonds would also be a good match with coconut.

I'm trying this tonight and I can't wait!!!
Just a few questions:

For those who have tried it --> Would you recommend skimping out on the nuts? Or does it taste better with the nuts?

For Kate --> How long will coconut butter keep in the pantry, in an airtight container?

Thanks!!!!

This looks so delicious! I am planning to make some soon. Will this work with cashews instead of macadamias? I don't have any on hand, but do have raw cashew pieces.
