<p>Made with canned beans, these refried black beans are a quick and satisfying alternative to <a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/best-black-beans-recipe/">stovetop black beans</a>, and a fun variation on <a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/easy-refried-beans-recipe/">classic refried pinto beans</a>. They taste far superior to plain canned black beans or store-bought refried beans. They&rsquo;re the best!</p>



<p>These refried beans are flavored with saut&eacute;ed onion, roasted or fresh red bell pepper, garlic, cumin, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Thanks to the red bell pepper and cumin, they have a subtle Cuban vibe that plays beautifully with the earthy flavor of the black beans.</p>

<p><strong>Cranberry salsa? Why not!</strong> This surprising salsa is bold and tangy. The bitterness of the cranberries is tempered with sweetness from orange juice and a little bit of honey. Most cranberry salsa recipes are too sweet, calling for as much as one cup sugar.&nbsp;This one is well-balanced, and you can adjust it to suit your taste buds. </p>



<p>This cranberry salsa recipe was inspired by one my late grandmother brought to our family&rsquo;s Christmas celebration years ago. It was festive and colorful, and I just loved it. </p>



<p>With my grandmother&rsquo;s recipe in mind, I improvised this salsa last year when our friend <a href="https://saltedplains.com/">Tessa</a> and her husband came over. My grandmother served her salsa with cream cheese, but I noticed we all ignored the cream cheese and kept going back for more salsa. I don&rsquo;t think it requires an accompaniment, but you&rsquo;ll find serving suggestions below. </p>

Every layer is delicious on its own and builds on the last. The end result is creamy and cheese, of course, but it&rsquo;s also perfectly balanced. Fresh avocado, jalape&ntilde;o, cilantro, green onion and salsa offer fresh and bright flavors that cut through the cheddar cheese, sour cream and refried beans.</p>



<p><strong>Store-bought ingredients yield great results,</strong> so you don&rsquo;t have to turn on the stove to make this one. Each layer contains a fun little surprise, like a splash of salsa in the refried beans to loosen the texture and a burst of freshness from jalape&ntilde;o in the sour cream. All seven layers come together quickly, too, so you can enjoy your appetizer after about twenty minutes of assembly.</p>

<p><strong>If you&rsquo;re relatively new to seaweed, like I am, this salad offers a great introduction.</strong> It calls for arame, which has a more mild and sweet flavor compared to other seaweed varieties. The crisp textures of cabbage and bell pepper, combined with soy sauce and ginger, contrast beautifully with the seaweed.</p>

<p>I improvised this dressing to make a green salad with leftovers from my <a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/fajita-veggie-halloumi-bowls/">Fajita Veggie &amp; Halloumi Bowls</a>, and I loved it so much that I wanted to share it with you. It&rsquo;s almost as versatile as my favorite&nbsp;<a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/lemon-vinaigrette-recipe/">Lemon Vinaigrette</a> and suits some flavors even better.</p>



<p>This dressing comes together quickly in the food processor and keeps in the refrigerator for up to one week. Sometimes having a vibrant sauce on hand makes all the difference!</p>

<p>This recipe was inspired by a similar dip that I grabbed at Whole Foods before hosting girls&rsquo; night (Falafel King brand). A couple of my friends follow dairy-free diets, so I&rsquo;m always looking for fun options that satisfy our requirements. As the night went on, we all fell in love with this vegan dip&mdash;it&rsquo;s creamy, rich yet fresh, and satisfying. It&rsquo;s irresistible.</p>



<p>So, I combined my <a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/best-tahini-sauce-recipe/">Best Tahini Sauce</a> (truly the best) with the herbs from my <a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/easy-green-goddess-dressing-recipe/">Easy Green Goddess Dressing</a>, and here you have it. You can make this recipe with any combination of cilantro, parsley, basil, dill and/or mint. Add a small handful of fresh tarragon if you can find it for that characteristic green goddess flavor. This dip (or sauce) is lovely in any season. I hope you fall in love with it!</p>

Chipotle peppers are vine-ripened jalape&ntilde;os that are smoked and dried, so they offer great depth of flavor. <p>Cowboy caviar is made with black-eyed peas and black beans, chopped tomatoes, corn, bell pepper, onion and cilantro tossed in tangy Italian dressing. I typically think of cowboy caviar as a warm weather salad, but it&rsquo;s made with ingredients that are readily available year-round.</p>



<p><strong>Cowboy caviar is actually perfect for New Year&rsquo;s</strong> if you&rsquo;re craving something fresh yet hearty, and trying to hit your black-eyed pea quota!</p>

<p><strong>I have one issue with most cowboy caviar recipes</strong>&mdash;they&rsquo;re often swimming in store-bought Italian salad dressing. As such, they can be way too oily and contain some unnecessary preservatives. Instead, I whisked together a simple, <a href="https://jyotirecipe.pages.dev/italian-dressing-recipe/">homemade Italian dressing</a> from scratch. It&rsquo;s easy to do and tastes fantastic.</p>



<p>This recipe yields a big bowl of dip, but I don&rsquo;t think you&rsquo;ll have any trouble polishing it off. I hope you enjoy this cheekily titled delight!</p>
