I had most of the ingredients but subbed sliced almonds and celery since my store was out of radishes. Such a good salad. I made it twice and I wanted to have the radishes but my store was out again lol! I’ll definitely make this salad again in the future. The celery is actually really good in this too Ill probably do celery and radish. Dried cherries are really good in it too I mixed cherries and cranberries the first time.

We (a friend who kindly looked through lots of vegetable recipes to find ideas and who ultimately settled on this, and I) weren’t sure it would be all that well received as it was known that some present, perhaps many, thought kale in any form was the devil’s pubic hair. Additionally, I am known for bringing sweet treats of all sorts but most known for my truffles so the fact I was bringing no sweets and two veggie dishes (the other was a Brussels sprout recipe) potentially could have caused an uproar. My concerns were without merit. An ardent meet eater ate loads of the salad and even requested the recipe, which I shared promptly.

I have since made it 2 more times, once for an end of year party, again wasn’t sure of its reception but little was left and what was, was consumed the next day.
Lastly made it for a Christmas Eve get together by request from someone who’d had it at Thanksgiving, again with positive reviews.

I have only made the vegan version (without honey and goat cheese) although offered this last time to include the cheese but they said they wanted it “EXACTLY like you made it before”.

Definitely a winning simple dish.
