I used roasted salted peanuts in place of the pecans. They remind me a lot of the Whatchamacallit candy bar that came out in the 1970s. It was always a favorite, and being able to recreate it so easily might not be a good thing for me. Even my mother (who dislikes crispy treats) said they’re wonderful.

Making them right now for my toddler to take as part of her afternoon snack!

Any nut or seed butter we’ve used works great! Peanut butter is our favorite, but sunbutter and almond mixed is our favorite for school.

I feel that maple syrup always makes the rice cereal get less crispy, so we stick with honey these days.

Gotta have coarse salt on top!
